Proudly Serving Charlottesville & Surrounding Areas

Job completed for Scott E.

Completion date: October 27, 2017

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Why did the customer contact us?

Mr. and Mrs. E requested we take a look at their attic fan to help determine why the second story struggled to maintain cooling or heating settings.

Solutions provided:

After discussing the problem with Mr. and Mrs. E and touring the second story and the attic, we disconnected the attic fan but left it in place. We also sealed around both of the return duct penetrations through the second story ceiling to prevent air infiltration from the unconditioned attic to the conditioned space. We also reconnected the return ductwork and sealed the connections to prevent the system from drawing in unconditioned attic air into the system. We believe these changes will improve comfort and efficiency on the second story.
