Job completed for Tom H.

Completion date: February 13, 2019

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Why did the customer contact us?

Client called us back because their outdoor unit was not operating again after we completed a serious list of repairs to return it to service and address long-term, recurring problems.

Solutions provided:

On arrival we found the outdoor unit not operating, as the client described. On inspection we found the outdoor contactor (the switch passing power to the unit) to be frozen. In this case, the contactor would freeze in whatever position it was in - open: system not working; close it manually: system working. We replaced the contactor and checked other system operating parameters and found the refrigerant pressures out of specification and different than we left them a week or so prior. On further investigation we found the indoor air filter and indoor coil caked in drywall dust, essentially choking the system for airflow. We changed the filter and cleaned the coil and returned the unit to service, with numbers similar to our last visit.
